for the love of online shopping

I have become obsessed with online shopping. Honestly - if mat leave has left me with one talent (other than being a mom of course!) it is the talent to shop online. Of course it doesn't help that during the first months of my son's life we were also under a major house renovation and one that required me to pretty much overhaul the entire place. But with a little baby in tow it wasn't always simple to just zip out to the stores and purchase whatever it was that we needed at the time. So I became an avid shopper online.

I can now find pretty much anything online, and I like to think - cheaper.

Some of my most favourite finds are my faucet that I got at Faucet Direct, my cute light switch covers and alphabet for the play room that I bought on Etsy and my beautiful carpet from Flor.

But you can also find so much for your baby online too. Not only can you purchase everything from My Very First Closet online and it will be shipped directly to you, but most stores offer online shopping as well. And often if you purchase a certain amount you will get the shipping for free - which means it's even more affordable than driving to the store!

My favourites for Clothing:

• The Gap - free shipping when you spend $50 (so easy!)
• Old Navy - free shipping when you spend $50 ...AND since these 2 stores are affiliated, you can combine purchases at both of them to make your way to the $50 free shipping mark
• The Children's Place - $8 flat rate shipping
• Gymboree - free shipping after you spend $75 (which is getting a bit higher, but they allow you to collect Gymboree bucks on your purchases and you can use them later towards discounts on your clothing which is great)
• Lululemon - always free shipping (okay, this one might not be for the babes, but is a necessity for any busy mom)

Those are pretty much my 'go-tos' and I will admit that I mostly hover around the Gap and Old Navy because I love the quality of their clothes. However, I am also a huge fan of the 'google search' that will pretty much uncover anything you are looking for. Though sadly for us Canadians, there isn't as much available to us. Sometimes make me wish I lived in the States!

My favourites for 'things':

• Snugglebugz - free shipping after you spend $40 ...and I absolutely adore this store. Everything they have is so cute
• Babies R Us - free shipping after you spend $100 (which really just makes me rationalize purchasing more in my head because I hate paying for shipping)

 But one other site that I need to mention for Canadian Moms is Well.ca ...it's basically an online pharmacy, where you can get almost everything that you need for any household. The amazing part - it is always free shipping, regardless of how much you purchase. Their prices are slightly higher, so you really need to know your pricing, but sometimes the convenience outweighs the wallet.

And there are my shopping tips for today! I'm certain every husband will be thrilled that I passed on a small part of my obsession :)
